So Big
Edna Ferber
London: The Readers Library Publishing Company Ltd, [reprint] circa 1932
The Readers Library published affordable editions of popular fiction in the period 1924-35, cheaply produced but very attractive with their wrap-round dustwrapper artwork.
Originally published by Doubleday Page & Company in 1924 and winner of the 1925 Pulitzer Prize, this copy a film tie-in reprint from The Readers Library of the Warner Brothers 1932 film starring Barbara Stanwyck.
Hardback in dustwrapper. pp x, 242, [2] publisher’s adverts. Size: 6.5 x 4.25 inches approx. (170mm x 108mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, especially spine ends and corner tips; sunning to spine; dusty; light foxing. Boards and spine a little rubbed and worn; spine gilt dulled. Pages age tanned throughout but otherwise generally clean.
Nonetheless, remaining a reasonably nice, clean copy – attractive in its dustwrapper.
