The British Library dates the book as 1885, this copy undated and is a later printing.
Hardback. Padded leather binding with gilt title and floral device to front board; page-block with all edges gilt; floral endpapers. pp 248, [6], plus portrait frontispiece. Size: 4.25 x 3.5 inches approx. (118mm x 88mm).
Binding a little scuffed and scratched, lightly rubbed and worn to extremities; gift inscription in ink (usefully dated) to reverse of portrait; occasional foxing or grubby mark to pages but generally clean; just a few instances of penciled or ink crosses and underlining.
Nonetheless, a particularly well preserved example – charming and quite lovely.
