‘A Country Story for Children’ – a quite charming book, based on the author’s childhood memories.*
Hardback. Pictorial boards in matching dustwrapper. [48]pp including colour illustrations. Size: 9.5 x 7 inches approx. (242mm x 181mm).
Dustwrapper a little worn and torn – tall top edge curling and with tears to front and rear panels, tear to bottom edge of rear panel, wear to spine ends and corner tips; creasing and light wear to spine; dusty and marked in places. Boards and spine clean and bright, just light wear to extremities. Spotting to endpapers, gift inscription to front free endpaper; scattered foxing and dustiness but generally very clean throughout; also, a pleasant musty odour of an old book.
Overall, showing some wear to dustwrapper but otherwise a nicely preserved example – uncommon, and quite lovely.
