Originally publlished 1988 in Milan, the English translation being published 1989 by Secker & Warburg. This Folio Society edition with illustrations by Neil Packer was published in 2016.

Hardback. Publisher’s grey cloth with white title to spine and wrap-round illustration in white and blue; blue illustrated endpapers. In a dark blue papered slipcase. pp xii, [xiii-xiv], 609, including b/w illustrations plus colour plates. Size: 10 x 6.5 inches approx. (251mm x 164mm).

Light shelf wear to slipcase.

Note: one gathering (pages 321-336) is inverted, ie. has been bound-in upside-down. An unfortunate collating error however all pages and plates are present.

Nonetheless, a nice, clean copy in near new condition.
