A lovely little leather bound book in the Queen’s Library of Literary Treasures series complete with original tissue wrap and box. A label to one end of box lid states – No. 5. Queen’s Library. Smooth Antique | SHAKESPEARE SONNETS
Limp boards. Publisher’s full leather binding with gilt title to spine and gilt title and decoration to upper board; printed grey endpapers; decorative title and frontispiece; gilt to top edge of page-block; rough cut to page edges, with many pages remaining unopened (ie. uncut to fore-edge). In original presentation box. pp [8], 1-154, [155] blank, [156] colophon. Size: 6 x 4.25 inches approx. (149mm x 110mm).
Box dusty and a little rubbed and worn. Tissue wrap age tanned.
Overall, a nice, clean copy and a rare survivor in this condition – very presentable indeed.
