A novel in Cornwell’s long-running Napoleonic series featuring rogueish English soldier Richard Sharpe, originally published 1997 by HarperCollins.

Folio Society published their edition in 2020 with an introduction by its author Bernard Cornwell and illustrations by Douglas Smith. This edition came in two flavours: the standard trade edition with four illustrations (colour frontispiece and three black & white), and a deluxe special edition which was limited to 250 un-numbered copies with a signed label inserted and the addition of two extra illustrations (colour frontispiece and five colour).

This copy being the deluxe special edition with the Bernard Corwell signed label.

Hardback. Publisher’s red cloth with title and decoration in black and gilt to spine and upper board; black endpapers; head and tail bands; tipped-in signed label. In a grey papered slipcase with gilt emblem to upper panel. pp [i]-xii, [xiii-xx], [1]-363, including maps plus six colour plates. Size: 9 x 6 inches approx. (229mm x 150mm).

A lovely, clean copy – appears unread.
