Hardback. Publisher’s pale-blue cloth with silvered title and decoration to spine and front board; illustrated endpapers; silvered to top edge of page-block. In a dustwrapper and matching slipcase. 335pp including b/w illustrations and colour plates. Size: 9.5 x 7 inches approx. (237mm x 175mm).
Slipcase somewhat worn, split and stained however still functional. Dustwrapper worn and with edge tears; wear and small loss to spine ends and corner tips; vertical crease to centre of spine; foxed and a little grubby in places; sunned to spine; offsetting to verso. Cloth generally clean and bright, some loss of colour to rear board; a touch bruised to spine ends and corner tips of boards. A gift inscription in pen to front free endpaper verso; scattered foxing, a little heavier to preliminaries and last few pages, but generally clean throughout; spotting to edges of page-block with some encroachment onto margins.
Overall, showing wear but otherwise a nice, clean copy – very presentable.
