A selection of the photography by Cecil Beaton produced between 1923 and 1945. Originally published 1941, this copy the 1946 revised second edition with additional photographs plus different dustwrapper artwork.
Hardback. Publisher’s orange cloth with title to spine. In a dustwrapper. pp viii, 134, [135-136], including b/w illustrations. Size: 9 x 6.75 inches approx. (228mm x 173mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, especially to folds and edges; a touch grubby/dusty in places; loss to corner tips and spine ends, notably to head of spine and front/rear panels; spine folds strengthened to verso with archival tape; some text offsetting to verso from a proprietary vinyl/paper sleeve previously used for protection. Cloth a little worn to extremities, a touch dusty and faded in places but generally clean and bright; titling to spine a touch worn; pages age-tanned, occasional spotting and dustiness but generally clean throughout.
Overall, showing some wear but otherwise remaining a reasonably nice, clean copy – attractive in its Beaton designed dustwrapper.
